Reported by Reuters on Tuesday (12/12/2017), Apple did not inform how much the value of the acquisition. While TechCrunch reported the deal was worth 400 million dollars, under the value of Shazam valuation of 1 billion US dollars.

Apple said Shazam "naturally" would match the Apple Music streaming service and would help users find new songs.
Apple Music has 27 million users, competing with Spotify in the figure of 60 million.

"Used by hundreds of millions of people around the world, across platforms. We have plans to be in store and look forward to a combination with Shazam based on today's deal," Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr said of Shazam.

Apple did not explain the intended plan, however, it was not expected that the company could make major changes to Shazam until it successfully obtained approval for regulation.
Shazam is currently available for Android-based devices, but, Apple does not specify whether versions of the operating system will still be available after the acquisition.

Shazam has shut down one of their software that runs on Windows computers this year.
