After Samsung tipped to launch the smartphone fold, this time turn Apple that dinformasikan going to do that. This information is known from the patents registered by the company.

Quoted from the IB Times , Tuesday (28/11/2017), the patent filed by the company was already approved by the Patent and Trademark Office of the United States. In the patent, Apple is known to have an iPhone concept that has two screens with a separator in between.

Notes in the patent also mention this product will be formed from materials made of nickel or nickel combined glass mix with metal. The patent also states several possible screen technologies to be used on this device.

This patent helped strengthen rumors about the cooperation of Apple and LG. According to rumors, LG will be the supplier of folding OLED display for the latest generation iPhone.

Based on the report, LG Display division has set up a special team to develop the component. Reportedly, Apple plans to release this iPhone folding products in 2020.

Samsung Will Also Release Similar Smartphones

Samsung is also rumored to be developing a folding smartphone named Galaxy X. The news of this smartphone also briefly mentioned by the President of Mobile Communications Business of Samsung Electronics, DJ Koh.

Koh said the folding smartphone is planned to be in the portfolio next year. If there is no crossroads, the smartphone is likely to be launched in 2018

This is the first time Samsung executives mention the smartphone with a screen that can be folded. However, Koh did not specify the series of smartphones with such folding screens.

Latest, support page for Galaxy X was already appeared on the official site of Samsung. Based on Forbes report , this smartphone already has its own model, namely SM-G888No.

SM-G888's number is said to be the code of this smartphone for a long time, while the addition of "No" indicates this device is only in the South Korean market.
