Email Inventor - Ray Tomlinson

Gmail? Yahoo? HotMail? Overall it is thanks to the central role of Ray Tomlinson. He is known as the inventor of Email or Electronic Mail. Email now now has a very important role in communicating quickly. Email is used to exchange messages quickly over the internet. Ray Samuel Tomlinson's real name is Raymond Tomlinson. Raymond Tomlinson (Here I briefly became Ray Tom) was born in 1941. He was born in the suburb of Amsterdam which is certainly there in New York, United States (US). Like other great people, Ray Tom is born in a small rural neighborhood called Vail Mills and has a simple family.

Then why is he the founder of email? It started when he was studying at a school called Broadalbin Central School, which is naturally located in Broadalbin, New York. At the school Ray Tom began to love the world of technology, especially computers. He learned a lot about networking, programming, and basically anything that is related to the internet and also the computer he learned, cool right? Due to his ability and passion for computer technology as well as the internet, Ray Tom continued his educational journey at a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute university.

History of Invention Email

Then Ray Tom graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute university in 1963, and Ray Tom earned his degree as a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. It turned out that Ray Tom's educational journey did not get here, he went on to get a master's degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In 1967, Ray Tomlinson later joined the company called BBN Technologies, in this company then the ARPANET network protocol and also the implementation of Telnet developed in addition Ray Tomlinson also wrote a program called SNDMSG which is the embryo of email. SNDMSG is an application capable of sending messages to others through a network which was then refined in 1971.

There is one important problem when it is faced by Ray Tomlinson is how to make the email findings can distinguish messages directed out the network and other messages can be addressed to other computer users. Ray Tomlinso then studied the keyboard ketka then he was interested in the @ symbol located on the keyboard as a hint address of an email user. the first email message that was sent reads "QWERTYUIOP". This is the most historic message sent via the ARPANET network which became known as the Internet network. Ray Tomlinson then became known as the inventor of Email which is very useful for humans.

In 2000, Ray Tom earned an award, the George R. Stibitz Computer Pioneer Award. Then continued in 2001, he also received an award named International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Ten years later, Ray Tom also received an award named Top 150 innovators and ideas from MIT. one year later Ray Tom was awarded the Internet Hall of Fame of the Internet Society. Pretty much also the award achieved by Ray Tom? Thanks to Ray Tom's emails, Ray Tom is on the list of the 50 most influential people in the world of informatics.
