History of the Founding of Apple Inc., which is Very Global
Do you know the iPhone? Or iPad and MacBook? The products of one of the biggest technology companies are very commonly used by many people in all parts of the world. Now, there's no one who doesn't know Apple. From teens to the elderly, they already know and know about products from this technology company. But how did the company begin? Of course Apple was not built overnight and without the hard efforts of radio history in Indonesia and in the world. So, it's good if we have a little knowledge about the history of the founding of Apple which is summarized in this article.
As part of the history of the founding of Apple, the logo and name of this technology company have their own history. There are several theories about why the Apple company uses its name with an iconic logo. Initially, the name Apple was inspired by Newton's story with an apple that fell on his head. Therefore, the initial logo of the Apple company is a picture of Newton sitting under a tree. However, in 1977, Jobs felt the logo was difficult to remember because it was too detailed. So, the Apple logo was redesigned that year into an apple that was bitten and filled with irregular rainbow colors.
The new Apple logo also has a meaning where the apple bite in the top right of the apple is used to distinguish that the logo is not orange or tomato. The irregular color of the rainbow also shows Apple's corporate philosophy of "Out of the standard rules" which means the freedom and courage of the Apple company to continue to innovate and revolutionize technology. But in the end, Jobs decided to replace the Apple logo with a different color, where the Apple Monochromatic logo used until now is more minimalist and simpler.
The invention of the first computer that shook the world
The Apple company was originally created on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, who have been close friends for a long time. Initially, the Apple company began in Steve Jobs's garage with improvised equipment. Their mission in building the first Apple computer was to change people's viewpoints about computers, where they wanted to build computers that were small enough and user-friendly so they could be placed at home or the office easily.
Apple I was the first computer invention made from scratch by Wozniak. The computer is shaped like a typewriter without a monitor, keyboard, or casing. Therefore, Apple I classified as an imperfect computer product. However, in that era, most computers did not yet have monitors to display visuals. Therefore, it is not uncommon for Apple I users to need a separate keyboard and use the TV as the screen. In fact, Wozniak's discovery became very important in that era because a computer can be built with simple components and can display visuals with TV support.
Meanwhile, Jobs, who handles the business section, is trying to convince potential investors that the need for personal computers will soar in the future. After trying to get investors, Jobs finally managed to attract Mike Markkula, who provided an investment of $ 250,000 and worked for Apple as the third employee of the company.
In 1977, Wozniak built the next computer as the second product of the Apple company, the Apple II. It was this computer discovery that shook the world with colorful visuals and VisiCalc applications that work like Miscrosoft Excel today. With VisiCalc, Apple can sell its computers to business or office customers. This is the beginning of the history of the founding of Apple.
Development of the Apple Company 1978 - 1983
After the circulation of the Apple II, the Apple Company had its own office and employees in 1978. In 1979, Apple engineers were allowed to visit the Xerox PARC company and study technology and computer science on the PARC campus. Xerox PARC is a company that is world-renowned for its technological achievements. Therefore, Steve Jobs decided to visit the company to study.
In 1980, Apple III was released and entered the market as a business-focused computer. This computer was issued as an effort to compete with IBM and Microsoft, which at that time was also on the rise. Also check out the history of Microsoft Word . However, Apple III turned out to be only a temporary success from Apple, and then Xerox PARC made Jobs think in a different direction. The Xerox PARC company convinced Jobs that the future of a computer is a computer with a graphical user interface(GUI), therefore, Jobs created a new computer called Lisa with a GUI device. But when it was released in 1983, Lisa did not experience soaring sales because of the high price and lack of sufficient support software. Therefore, Jobs began the next project, the Apple Macintosh.
In the same year, Macintosh was published by Apple and at the same time, Jobs appointed John Sculley as Apple's CEO. Jobs managed to convince John Sculley, Pepsi's youngest CEO at the time, with his legendary words. "Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life? Or do you want to come with me and change the world? "
Development of Apple Companies 1983-1997
Macintosh experienced quite high sales, but still could not beat IBM sales. This is where Jobs and Sculley bicker. Jobs wanted to work on the project in his own way while Sculley wanted strict supervision of the release of new products after experiencing a disastrous sale with Lisa. Because he did not agree, Jobs left his own company in 1985 and Wozniak also left the same year. Jobs left Apple and built his own software company called NeXT.
Until 1990, Apple developed very rapidly under the leadership of Sculley. This happened because of the planning that Jobs had made, before he left Apple. Jobs made a relationship with a small company called Adobe, which created the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Both companies managed to create a phenomenon known as desktop publishing.
However, a few years into the future, Apple began to decline after its heyday in 1990 because it could not compete with Microsoft, which at that time released Windows products. Even in 1996, Apple was believed to be bankrupt and closed. That happened until 1997, when Apple finally bought the NeXT company to attract Jobs back to Apple.
Development of Apple Corporation 1997 - now
This is where the final part of the history of Apple's establishment, where after Jobs was appointed CEO, Apple experienced a drastic turning point to make it triumph again. Jobs formed an alliance and worked with Microsoft to create its own software, Mac. In addition, Jobs also began to introduce the iBook as a personal laptop, the iPod as a tool for listening to music, and to create the iTunes software as a music-based product. Although sales of these products have skyrocketed, his biggest discovery that has made Apple triumphant and known to date is the invention of the iPhone in 2007. Jobs' hard work in rebuilding Apple has become his biggest legacy after he died on October 5, 2011.
